Buried pipelines are one kind of important facilities for material transportation. Itplays a significant role in modern industrial, agricultural production and people’s life,becoming more and more important for economic development and people’s standardsof living. Buried pipelines occupy an important position in national construction and ithas become the fifth mode of transportation besides highways, railways, waterways andaviation.Water supply pipeline is typical of buried pipeline, and the former researchers havemade a lot of work in the analysis of vertical and horizontal internal force, and aconsiderable number of achievements have been obtained. However, some shortage isstill existed inevitably. This paper aims to base on the former research, to establish morecomprehensive, reasonable and accurate analysis model of water supply pipeline. At last,failure analysis and reliability analysis based on the above is given. Specifically, themain contents of this article can be divided into the following several aspects:(1) In the longitudinal force analysis of the pipeline, when the additional unevensettlement is not considered, the key parameters of the longitudinal analysis and themodel of longitudinal pipe-soil are given, then several examples are shown to analyzethe key parameters. When the additional uneven settlement is considered, a model forthe internal force of the longitudinal pipe is given, then several examples are shown toanalyze the influence to the longitudinal analysis from the model of the unevensettlement, elastic-plastic foundation and whether to consider the hanging segment, andthe rule is summarized.(2) In the circumferential force analysis of the pipeline, a coupling model for thehorizontal internal force analysis of the buried pipeline is given, and the decouplingcondition for the vertical and horizontal static analysis and the horizontal static analysissteps when the longitudinal impacts are considered are given. At last, a simple exampleis shown to verify the feasibility of the above operation.(3) In the pipeline failure and reliability analysis, first, pipeline failure criterion andfailure judgment method are given. Second, an actual structure is given for the failureanalysis. At last, structure reliability analysis is shown. The former can be used to judgewhether the danger point reach the limit stress, the latter can get the failure probabilityof the structure.
