Atmospheric railway tanker transport, loading and unloading easy, easymeasurement, the effective volume of large, major transport hazardous chemicals, thetanker’s security will be a direct impact on the entire railway transport safety. Inservice tankers often produce such a large area of thinning corrosion, localizedcorrosion, surface cracks and other defects. In order to ensure the use of tanker safetyand reduce maintenance costs, safety assessment technology in the safety assessmentof existing tankers, general criteria for the evaluation of the quality of the object’sstatus survey (history, working conditions, environmental, and so on), defect detection, defect cause analysis, failure mode judgment, material testing (performance, damage, degradation, and so on), stress analysis, the necessary experimental and computational. This paper analyzes the in-service tanker corrosion, defects in the formationmechanism of failure modes in the specification on the assessment of the safetystandards on the basis of the stress concentration and, combined with the relevantstandards, the establishment of the tanker force model, analysis of the tanker atruntime force, and the use of finite element analysis software ANSYS to analyze thetanker load of different working conditions, the depth and length of the crackschanges, stress cracks size, and changes. Tanker within the cracks to carry out safetyassessment work, the last expansion according to the calculated fatigue value giventhe level of safety factor to arrive at the remaining useful life of the tanker in thepresence of the cracks.Macroscopic examination Xi’an vehicle factory G11-type atmospheric railwaytank car tank, ultrasonic wall thickness, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, penetration testing and other testing found the railway tanker poly liquid fossa there isa surface crack, the depth of2mm, the length of10mm, calculated the existence of thecracks is to allow the existence of the use of safety assessment standards CVDA-1984safety analysis of the cracks in the tanker. The evaluation results show that the cracksize remains unchanged, the larger the external load, the greater the stress of the crackdefects; at the same loading conditions, stress also increases with increasing crack size, but when the crack size increases to a certain extent the stress the size of the defect atthe rate of increase with the decrease. Crack fatigue assessment and the assessment ofbrittle fracture, and finally to determine the service life of4.35years. The main purpose of the safety assessment of cracks inside the railway tankcar safety assessment, and stress analysis of cracks within the tanker, to reduceunnecessary costs for maintenance, thereby reducing costs and increasing economicefficiency and equipment reliability.
