As the developing of our countries economy, the hazardous chemicals used more and more wide. In our country, lots of hazardous chemical were transported by railway. The acid tanker car is an important way to our countries transportation. It was used to transport some dangerous good such as:sulfuric acid. As the transportation of hazardous chemical increased dramatically, some accidents were happened during the process of transportation which caused great economic losses and social impact. The safety problem of hazardous chemical transportation had caused attention of most people.Engineering practice shows that the soil tanker car was easily produced some defects such as localized corrosion, large corrosion to thinning, surface crack, and pit. At present, our country did not have some methods to those defects. Especially do not have some regular inspection laws for those soil tanker cars. Those were brought some difficult to the people who charge the regular inspection of soil tanker car.The pressure tanker was belonged mobile container. There are create much high topical stress around the pits, it is easy create crack near the pits which was serious impact the safe using of tankers. The pit defects belong to volume defect; it is not easy to analyze the stress with general methods. This paper adopt the practice of engineering and use finite element analysis software to calculate and analysis the stresses of the pits. During the process of stress analysis, we refer some standard such as GB/T19624-2004《Safety assessment for in-service pressure vessels containing defects》and TB/T1335-1996《Railway Vehicle Identification strength design specifications and test》. Used the finite element analysis software ANSYS.We had analysis the stress of pits with different size and the variation law. The results show that, under the static load, as the size increasing, the stress decreasing, under the other loads, as the size increasing, the stress also increasing. We also analyzed the fatigue life of tanker car. To some extent, the fatigue life was safe. We hope our job could provide some advice for the used of soil tanker.
