The black roads surface built on permafrost region in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau are ruined badly after use while the measures Qinghai-Tibetan railway scientific research and disease treatments are both impracticable. Although few developed countries have got many experiences after lots of experiments made about building on permafrost area, the research result can not be used in road building in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau as there are many different factors such as geology, hydrology, meteorology, natural conditions, complexity of research methods, different emphasizes and depth in methods, roadbed and pavement construction technology and disease managements. So roads construction technology in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau permafrost area is still backward and there are still no successful experiments in solving the problems. It has been causing the concern of experts in permafrost soil and road which means that there are still imperfect factors in permafrost area road construction, road surface structure, roadbed disease treatment and design and calculation data.The following are two main methods in research which aimed to improve the roads durability and achieve reasonable service life of the roads.1.Research on durability of road surface material; made a new road surface material which has the capability of deforming low temperature former material; found the best mix proportion and meanwhile propose the Key Implementation Points.2.Providing a new roadbed structure which can prevent roadbed subsidence and protect permafrost soil actively.
