Automated Test System Of Engine Control Unit Based On PXI And Virtual

This thesis comes from the localization project of new generationEngine Control Unit (ECU) of MagnetiMarelli Powertrain SystemShanghai S.p.A. The previous ECU automatic test system is imported, sothe cost and maintenance fee is very expensive. It’s considering tomaking one set of new ECU test system by local resource when launchednew ECU localization project.The previous ECU test system is basically platform-based VXI bussystem. However, with the PXI bus platforms mature, a variety of PXIbus platform test system is also emerging. This paper discusses the virtualinstrument based on PXI bus and automated test system implementations.The test system is made of a standard data acquisition card, DMM card,AIO card. It’s also using one specially designed signal conditioningcircuit and communications adapter unit in automatic test systems.In this paper, automatic test system software is developed by themost popular LabVIEW. LabVIEW development is characterized bysimple structure, so it’s widely used by engineers of various industries.The ECU has a lot of test items and it need test multiple products in parallel, so the system selects the TestStand as test executive managementsoftware. TestStand is a test implementation ActiveX-based managementenvironment. This project uses Teststand and LabVIEW to develop thetest software; the former is responsible for testing processes, data flowcontrol over deployment; the latter is responsible for developing thespecific test items such as data collection, processing, storage. This paperstudies test system including overall structure and specific functions.Finally highlights the two major test methods, and illustrates the relevanttest process.Finally, the paper used G R&R method to verify the reliability of theECU automatic test system. The method is suit for the automotiveindustry in the measurement system authentication.
