| As China becomes a global OEM base, currently the consumer electronicsindustry has been faced with an unprecedentedly fierce competition. For those OEMsuppliers, the quality of their products has been regarded as the fundamental key tothe survival against the competition as well as the further opportunities. Therefore, many enterprises are eager to reducing the cost via sustainable improvement on thequality. In practices, however, the enterprises are very likely to be lack of the sense ofintegration and sustainable improvement when encountering some sort complicatedengineering quality issues due to the lack of a scientific solution, and as a result, theywill probably be lost in the end. In this regard, it is of profound significance for theenterprises to seek and build a reasonable as well as feasible method in qualityimprovement.Based on the study on the Six Sigma DMAIC mode and a further practice in theproject for product X deformation improvement at supplier Company A, this thesisanalyzes and illustrates the importance and feasibility of building a Six SigmaDMAIC quality improvement system for the suppliers to achieve the target of bothsustainable improvement and low cost. With the aid of the5-step systematic mode ofDMAIC, Company A succeeded in building a specialized team as well as planning animprovement target at the beginning of the project and then analyzed the key datawith a validated measurement system. The molding and storage parameters wereoptimized via DOE, based on which the cooling re-strike fixture was well matched. Atthe late stage of this project, the feasibility of the improvement plan as well as theprocess capability for the mass production were identified to be effective under astep-by-step verification and as a result, the current bottleneck of the supply chain wassettled. Ultimately, Company A remarkably improved the customer satisfaction vialowering its production cost up to330thousand RMB per day and stabilizing a longterm process capability over4. |
