As the movement and power transmission components, gear has been widelyused in cars, ships, aerospace and other fields, plays an irreplaceable role. With theadvances in science and technology, the quality of the gear was more and more paidattention. For online detection of the gear cutting industry, workersexperience-dependent features, developed a set of portable gear noise testing systemfor field measurement of gear transmission noise. The main work is as follows:Based on the status quo in the field of gear noise measurement in our country andabroad, to build an embedded transmission noise test system based on ARM and DSPprograms, and built a prototype of the gear noise test system. The design of system hardware, including the gear transmission noise signalacquisition module, the module of the low-pass filter, AD converter module, thetiming control module, the DSP control and signal processing module, ARMprocessing and graphical display modules, communications and storage module andthe design of apparatus electric box.To develop a set of software for this system, including the timing control programof the FPGA, DSP control and signal processing procedures, communicationprocedures, ARM graphical interface procedures and so on. DSP and FPGA controlAD to collect noise signal, processed the signal with DSP, then passed to the ARMgear transmission noise signal data by the communication module, displayedgraphical of the noise signal on the ARM.Complete design of the experimental program for this system, including thetesting laboratories of the various modules and the machine testing laboratory. Theexperimental results show the good performance of the gear transmission noise testsystem developed can be used for the analysis of gear transmission quality.
