This paper is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No:51075201).Compared with traditional pumps, piezoelectric pumps have the advantages of simple structure,small volume, and no electromagnetic interference. Although can not replace traditional pumps, theycan fill in the blanks of micro-flow driving field. The present research on piezoelectric pumps mostlytakes the field of medicine, sanitation and health care as background. But Applications in cooling andnavigation field are rarely found. Through the analysis of the properties and applications about otherkinds of piezoelectric pumps, a new type of valve-less piezoelectric pump, with a structure of spiraltube, was proposed.To test and verify the functional feasibility of this pump, which has gyro property. We focus on theexperimental research, and get the following results.(1)Creatively putting forward a kind of combined structure with cylindrical spiral tube. Based onthis, a valve-less piezoelectric pump was designed.(2)Choosing elastic support way to do a research on vibration characteristics for piezoelectricvibrator. Through the laser sweep frequency vibration measurement experiment to measure resonantfrequency of piezoelectric resonators. And combined with the analysis of finite element modal toverify this choice is correct indirectly.(3)Differential pressure experiment about this pump has been carried out under zero flow.Direction of the pump flow can be got, also the changing trend of pressure difference with drivingvoltage, driving frequency and diameter of cylindrical spiral tube.(4)Rotating research on the pump verify it has the gyro properties. Experiment shows that thepressure difference of the pump is related to the rotating speed of the platform. Flow function of thepump is sensitive to its gesture.To sum up, valve-less piezoelectric pump with cylindrical spiral tube has properties of simplestructure, minimization and integration, also it can be used as gyroscope. Not only can be as a fluiddelivery tool, but also can be as a navigation element to measure the changing of gesture. As a result,it can be applied to fields of cooling and navigation, etc.
