Unmanned helicopter plays an increasingly significant role in military, civilian and scientificresearch, and becomes a focus of concern and study at home and abroad.The testing of flightsimulation system is an important tool in the designing and researching of unmanned helicopter,which can effectively reduce risks, shorten development cycle and reduce the research costs. Theflight simulation system, which had been successfully applied in the unmanned helicopter developed,and was constructed to meet the needs of practical engineering applications thought design ofsubsystem such as system dynamics model module, the simulation program,the desktop applicationsoftware subsystems.In the light of new requirements of the simulation environment, this article describes thedevelopment of the unmanned helicopter and its simulation technology at home and abroad. Based onthis, this paper put forward the overall simulation-system design according to the modular designidea. Firstly, as to the module of the dynamic model, completed the design of a variety of modeluniversal interface and atmospheric environment, which respectively realizes different modelsembedding of the simulation system and the simulation function of actual flight environment.as to thesensor module and actuator modules, respectively achieve the digital simulation and physicalsimulation of the sensor and the semi physical simulation of real and digital steering gears. Secondly,combining with the actual project requirements, two means of communication-the serial port andnetwork UDP have been acuieved for the simulation system After that, through the overall analysis ofthe man-machine interface environment requirement, with the use of the Tilcon development tools,proposed the Pgmlink design and re-designed and re-arrangeed the simulation control interface, builtup a comprehensive simulation platform for unmanned helicopter.Finally, tests the research contexts, carrying out semi-physical simulation testing to internal andexternal dynamics model respectively, and adding atmospheric interference as well as featuresimulation in the simulation procedure. The experimental result shows that the designed flightsimulation system software was thorough in the function, reasonable in the logic and superior in theperformance. And it also proved that this flight simulation system can meet the demands of manydifferent tasks.
