In consideration of the complementation and universality of solar and geothermalenergy, presents the tentative idea which adopts solar and geothermal energy as complexheat source. This system absorbs the respective advantages of solar and ground sourceheat pump. Solar source heat pump system improves the load imbalance of ground loopheat exchanger and increases its coefficient of heat transfer. Meanwhile, ground sourceheat pump system is used to overcome the defect that solar collector must operateintermittently by the change of weather. As it exists obvious regional difference inground property and solar resource, the system adaptability is considered to be animportant referenced factor during employment and generalization. Consequently, it isnecessary to make an assessment on the adaptability of solar assisted ground source heatpump system in different regions by means of life cycle analysis.Taking a system which solar collector is connected in series with ground heatexchanger as the object of study, establishes the simulation program of operation.Formulates the optimization strategy by combining simulation program withHooke-Jeeves optimization algorithm. In consideration of the building thermal partitionand solar energy distribution in China, selects Golmud, Hohhot, Changchun, Lasa,Beijing, Zhengzhou, Chongqing and Wuhan as representative cities. According to thewhole year hourly dynamic load, calculated with Chinese Typical Year Weather data, confirms the equipment type and relative simulation parameters. The limited length ofborehole, which is set as a constraint condition, is obtained by20-year time simulationof operation. The optimization results of solar assisted ground source heat pump systemare presented in the target of minimum Life Cycle Cost.Analyses the life cycle adaptability of solar assisted ground source heat pumpsystem in terms of feasibility, energy conservation, economical efficiency andenvironmental benefit. The adaptability of solar assisted ground source heat pumpsystem represents obvious regional difference. The heating and cooling load of groundheat exchanger in Beijing and Zhengzhou is approximate the same and the refrigerationoperation in summer can observably raise yearly energy efficiency ratio. The load ofbuilding in those regions is moderate and benefit in economy and environment is conspicuous there. Although the heating and cooling load in Lasa is imbalanced, thetotal demanded load is low and it exists big improve space in energy conservationaspect. The imbalance of heating and cooling load in Golmud, Hohhot and Changchunis critical. Energy conservation and economical benefit is limited by lower initialground temperature and huge demanded load. Wuhan and Chongqing belong to coolingdominated regions, the ground temperature emerges a rising trend in life cycle operationtime. It is impossible to add solar collector as assisted heating mechanism.
