In this paper, the thickness control of coastal concrete cover is talked as theresearch object.By sampling and analising various components in actual projects,theproblem about shaping and thickness control of the concrete cover is obtained here.Andthe corresponding solutions and measures are also put forward.First of all, a comprehensive review of coastal concrete durability based on theforeign and domestic research in present situation is given.Secondly, a comprehensive analysis of the factors influencing the durability ofcoastal concrete is made, based on the thickness and forming quality of the concretecover. However,no matter which one is the leading factor,the final conlusion issummarized as the damage of sevceability and ultimate limit states due to steelbarcorrosion.Again, the durability damage of a residence in Qingdao is analised,which is causedby the insufficient thickness of concrete cover.The durability damage characteristics areanalised based on the exterior damage of concrete and the corrosion of steel bar.Finally, three different structural forms of coastal concrete engineering are analised.The thickness of concrete cover and carbonation depth data are sampled respectivelyfrom beams, plates, columns and shear walls. Through statistical analysis, the existedproblem of the thickness control and forming quality of concrete cover in the coastalengineering is obtained. And corresponding solving measures are put forward based onthe technology and management of concrete cover in the construction process.
