With the development of the shipbuilding industry, there are higherrequirements for production design of marine generator. The current tendency ofdevelopment of marine motor is to develop the large motor. Because motortemperature field at steady state operation can reflect reliability and safety of motoroperation,so it is the basic standard of choosing motor manufacturing material. Withthe enlargement of motor capacity, marine generator’ radiation cooling problem limitsits development to large capacity and miniaturization. That problem also becomeshighlight of motor designers. Consequently, research of marine generator’ radiationcooling problem is of great importance.This article set certain type of marine motors of the Zhenjiang CME Co. Ltd asan example. I selected marine generator rotor and its cooling system as study objectand had analysis of numerical simulation. Firstly, based on drawings which providedby CSSC, I established3D solid model of marine turbine. At the same time, accordingto operation and ventilation’ characteristics of this type of marine generator, Iestablished calculation area and solving mathematical model of the selected generatorrotor and shaft diameter mixing ventilation cooling air duct. Furthermore, based oncomputational fluid mechanics theory, I had numerical simulation of flow field insideshaft diameter mixing ventilation cooling air duct. On the basis of that, I had couplingnumerical simulation of the flow field and temperature field inside marine motor rotortemperature field and ventilation cooling air duct.I got accurate position of maximum pressure area in the marine generator rotorinternal cooling duct and asymmetry of pressure distribution in the axial directionfrom the results of numerical simulation. What’ more, I knew temperature ranges ofvarious components in rotor well and accurate location of the highest temperatureregion as well as temperature change trend of rotor integral.Through the study of this subject, we obtained characteristics and regularity ofthe fluid flow and heat transfer inside this type of marine generator rotor cooling airduct and got temperature distribution conditions of rotor. That provided a theoreticalbasis to design and optimize of the marine motor rotor cooling air duct structure.
