Steel tube pole is usually used in the voltage circuit of the220kV and below nearthe city, most of them are tapered single pole bearing load. Every pole consists ofnumbers of tube segments which are about8~12m, whose sections are N polygonnearly round. But former researches focus on tapered component rather in thepolygonal-tapered steel tube.Firstly, the model of polygonal-tapered steel tube is built by element analysissoftware ANSYS, considering the double nonlinear effect. Meanwhile the paper madesome analysis about the ultimate bearing capacity of different section shape, differentinitial imperfection, and different diameter-thickness ratio, and different tapering ratio,different slenderness ratio in axial compressive load. And then compared of the impactof the above parameter, get the change rule and get the formula of axial compressivestability bearing capacity of polygonal-tapered steel tube. Then put forward the formulaof effective length factor of polygonal-wedge steel tube section, comparing with《PortalFrame light Steel Structure Housing a Technical Specification》.Secondly, this paper analyzed the influence of diameter-thickness ratio, taperingratio, slenderness ratio, and initial imperfection on the ultimate bearing capacity of thepolygonal-tapered steel tube components under eccentric compression using ANSYSsoftware. It could obtain some change rule, and the aim is to provide some referencedata for widely used of this component.
