Reinforced concrete shear wall is widely used in the high-rise buildings because ofits good entirety, big lateral stiffness and large bearing capacity demand. With muchexperience of seismic disaster and test research, people realize that damage of buildingstructure in earthquake is mainly due to the lack of structural energy dissipation andplastic deformation. In design, it’s not enough just to meet the bearing capacityrequirement. It’s more important to make the structure have good deformation andenergy consumption ability. With the rapid development of modern architecturaltechnology and the request for effective utilization of national mineral resource, highductility cold-rolled ribbed steel has been researched and produced. To adapt to therequirement of industrial production, the steel has formed highly ductile cold-rolledribbed welded steel fabric. As a new type of high performance structural material, ductile cold-rolled ribbed steel fabric in shear wall has much advantages such as higherstrength, less steel consumption, faster construction, higher quality and better economiceffect. Besides, the steel fabric can be welded with smaller diameter and spacing of barsto get better cohesion, bigger stiffness and better entirety, which can prevent thegeneration and development of cracks in the concrete. In spite of higher ductility, ductile cold-rolled ribbed steel bar has no apparent yield platform and poor deformationability. It’s necessary to study the seismic performance of the steel fabric when it’s usedin shear wall. In the paper, low-cycle reversed loading experiment of shear wallspecimens with the ductile cold-rolled ribbed steel has been made. Then, the specimensare simulated and analyzed with nonlinear finite element analysis software ABAQUS.The main contents of this article are as follows:First, making research on the seismic behavior of the7pieces of shear walls withductile cold-rolled ribbed welded steel fabric. All of the7shear walls are straight. Theimpact factors of the seismic performance such as shear span ratio, axial load ratio, spacing of the reinforcement and reinforcement ratio are considered. Throughexperimental research, each specimen’s carrying capacity, rigidity, decay process andalso ductility, hysteretic behavior, energy dissipation, damage characteristics and failuremechanism is analyzed. Then, using finite element analysis software ABAQUS to simulate these7components under monotonic loading. Comparing the analytical results with experimental results, including the development of damage, destruction, and also theload-displacement curve, to verify the reliability of the simulation. Then makingresearch on the change of steel strain of the components through the simulation.Based on the testing and analysis, putting forward research conclusions andseismic design suggestions for shear walls with ductile cold-rolled ribbed welded steelfabric.
