Water supply pumping station project is mainly used for urban water supply,irrigation, as well as inter-basin water transfer and other fields. At present, there is aprevalent problem of low efficiency, energy consumption in pump system, so the pumpstation energy optimization has a promising future. In addition, the security problems inthe pumping station, water hammer accident has brought people’s normal life andproduction into a serious impact and loss. Therefore, in order to achieve the safe andeconomic operation of the water supply system, water supply pumping stationoptimization study is significant.This study is for the purpose of Safety and Energy optimization in water supplypumping station. In order to achieve the energy saving goals of water supply projects,the article has a systematic study to optimize the selection of the pumps, and optimizethe operating adjustment method of water supply pumping station, that is, to achieveeconomic; and study pressure piping water hammer conditions of the pump system, tosimulate water hammer Occurrence, which provide the basis for the safe operation ofthe water supply pumping station, that is security; ultimately, the safe and economicoptimizing methods are used in engineering. The specific contents are as flows:1) The minimum annual cost of pumping station as the objective function, theinteger programming model is built, and the branch and bound method is used to solvethe model to determine the optimal selection scheme in the pumping station.2) With the powerful numerical computation, graphics capabilities of theinteractive calculation software Matlab, centrifugal pump samples and price database ofpump are built to achieve the research of computer quickly optimizing the selection.3) According to the basic principles and calculation methods of water hammer,Characteristic Method is used to simulate water hammer caused by pump stopping,respectively, water hammer occurrence in the different boundary conditions (no valvecheck valves, slow closing check valve) is explored, and security measures of thecorresponding pressure pipeline protection is also researched. Simultaneously, Waterhammer in two stage closure valves adjustment is also analyzed and a simulationmethod is proposed to determine the best closing program of the two stage closurevalves.4) With a minimum shaft power or maximum efficiency of the system to the objective function, mathematical models under the different adjustment runningmethods(variable-speed control, adjustable regulator)are established to optimize theoperation of the pumping station of water supply projects, and genetic algorithm is usedto solve the optimization model of variable-speed control.5) The combination of water supply projects for instance, the general steps of theoptimization of pump selection and optimal operation are analyzed to draw pumpingstation energy optimization program; Simultaneously, how to analysis water hammer inpipe system with water column separation is got with the complication of anengineering example and the parameter of water hammer is analyzed under usedprotection of hydraulic control butterfly valve and air valve, then the best programs forhydraulic control butterfly valve is designed, and ultimately the safety protection ofpressure pipeline can be achieved.6) Make programs to solve the mathematical models of energy saving optimizationand draw the simulation data of water hammer of the pumping station visualization inthis article, and the modular programs of pumping station optimization are prepared.
