Frame is the important component to electric motorcycle,it plays an important rolein fixing and supporting the battery and other components,and bears road excitationwhile the vehicle is being driven. Hence, the structure of frame directly influences thecomprehensive performance of the electric motorcycle. With steel prices rising,lightweight design is the important development direction of electric motorcycle.Therefore, realize the lightweight can not only greatly shorten the products design timeand reduce the production cost but also enhances market competition ability.Aimed at the design problems of frame,this thesis analyzed strength of frame byusing finite element method based on summing up the theory of finite element analysis,On the basis,it involves in the optimization design of the frame structure andexperiment analysis. The following works and achievements have been accomplished:①Analyzing the working process of vibration test-bed and calculating thevibration exciting value,Set up the boundary conditions and the finite element analysismodel under vibration condition.②According to the theory of transient dynamics,calculate frame dynamicstrength to obtain the maximum stress and stress distribution of frame under theworking condition and find the structural weakness.③Based on the result of FEA,optimum model with the target function of theframe weight is established,and made optimization design of the frame under intensityconstraint conditions. The weight of frame is reduced by12.1%after optimizationwithout stress concentration.④According to the mechanical testing principle,carry out the experiment test tomeasure strain and vibration acceleration value of the key location on the frame. Thevalidity of the models and optimal result is verified by the good agreements of thecalculating results with the test.The thesis discusses the frame structure strength and made optimization design ofthe frame. On the basis, prototype is designed and it is completed the test successfully.The results indicate that the strength of the optimized frame meets the requirements andmanufacturing process. The study of this paper and supplies referenced researchmethods and practical experience for the electric bicycle-related research.
