The traditional steering mode of vehicle is composed of a front wheel and real wheel,and the former lead to deflection while the later drive steering. The steering mode is mainlycontrolled by the steering wheel angle. This article proposes a new steering mode based onreferring to the relevant research data and results at home and abroad. In order to reduce thevehicle in the steering process of steering radius, lifting the vehicle in a narrow or difficultsections through and maintain the vehicle in front wheel steering system failure of the steering,the new steering mode does not change the original front wheel of the vehicle steering systemstructure and properties, and improve ordinary differential structural, take the initiative tochange the speed difference between the size and direction of the left and right side axle shaftgear through the speed control system, combine with the original vehicle’s front wheelsteering and form a new turn. This article focuses on the new auxiliary steering differentialresearch and elaboration, its research results are summarized as followers:(1) The proposed assisted steering differential is improved based on the originalordinary differential structure and the limited slip differential features and functions designing.Its main characteristic is that differential can be active controlled by the control mechanism,at the same time , velocity magnitude and direction of both sides of the half shaft gear speedoutput can be changed.(2) This paper designs the differential principle, discusses its features as a function ofactive differential realization process. In addition, associated parameter indicators includingthe turning radius decreases, as well as with front wheel steering mode of the integration isanalysised.(3) Using the CATIA software, assisted steering differential 3D entity modeling processis completed, at the same time, its structural dimensions, mass and power etc is analysised. At last, the proposed assisted steering differential and the differential are compared. This willcreate the conditions for the latter part of DMU space analysis and motion simulation.In summary, this paper studies the auxiliary steering differential. The steering differentialcan through reduce the steering process of steering radius by active differential, which willhave a very big help to enhance the vehicle steering process through and flexibility. Inaddition, for the general differential potential use and development, as well as the steeringmode of development has practical significance.
