Snow simulation as an indispensable part in the simulation of natural phenomena, can greatly improve the realism of the virtual scene. In order to further enhance the realism of sea environment and achieve the purpose of improving simulation training, this paper relies on the marine simulator visual system, mainly research on the real-time simulation of the snow falling scenes and snow accumulating scenes. The main work can be summarized as follows:1.Used particle systems to achieve real-time simulation of the snow falling scenes. when the snow particles fall, we have analyzed and simplified the force of snow particle, also think that the snow particles are subject only to the role wind force and gravity.2.Improved the method of three-dimensional wind field basing on the boltzmann equation and achieve the simulation of snow particles in the wind field. We have build the wind field with D3Q15lattice model, and simplified the wind field boundary conditions on the three-dimensional discrete space, users can control the wind field by wind velocity and wind direction.3.Simulated the real-time accumulation of snow in the surface of the ship. Before accumulating, we have had a pretreatment work, include meshing the accumulated areas of the ship surfaces. we divide the snow simulation into two stages, first stage mainly used the accumulated method based on single snow particles, second stage mainly used the accumulated method that basing on the surface height fields to calculate the thickness of accumulated surface in order to achieve the staged real-time simulation of the snow scene.
