National "Twelfth Five-Year" Plan for electric vehicle technology development clearly stated that developing battery only electric vehicle as green-car’s direction of development, which will promote the development of battery only electric vehicle and take fuel vehicles market share continuously.Lead-acid battery as the electric vehicles has being used widely more by right of its mature technology, low cost, good output, high current charge-discharge allowed, wide temperature range and so on. Lead-acid battery charging technology development is restrict the rapid development of electric automobile popularization’s important factor, Simultaneously, charging technology’s good or bad will have direct impact for electric vehicle battery charging efficiency, service life. Charging equipment as electric vehicles necessary equipment, which will develop follow develop electric vehicle. So research and design about electric vehicle lead-acid battery charging technology has a very important theoretical significance and value in engineering.Supported by a provincial scientific project of Henan, this design used modern high-frequency switching power supply technology and PWM pulse control technology, focusing on the Lead-acid battery charging technology.Based on the electrochemical properties of lead-acid battery and conventional charging method analysis, a segmented pulse charging strategy was utilized. Ground on the full bridge converter for High-Frequency Switching Power Supply and designed the overall scheme of the pulse charging system. In order to pulse charging system intelligent and security, two processors Megal6and STC89C58RD+are used in this system, which tight coupling with charging and controlling. Using SG2525and IR2110, the design of pulse controlling and driving controlling are realized. A pulse charging prototype is manufactured.At last, comparative and analysis with pulse charge system and conventional charge system are carried out, proving the theory analyzes and designs are correct.
