Prestressed concrete continuous rigid frame bridge with its structural stiffness, driving comfort, appearance generous concise and simple maintenance and other advantages, is the large span bridge construction commonly used. However, with a lot of continuous rigid frame bridges being built, there arise some problems in this bridge type, which affects its further popularization in highway engineering construction. In this paper, with the example of the Zhengzhou-Shaolin Temple connecting line, namely the PC continuous rigid bridge of the South-to-North water transfer project, the thesis discusses about the existing problems of large-scale prestressed concrete continuous rigid bridge through the analysis of the specific engineering design, structure mechanics performance and construction key technology, For the construct design of bridge just in succession, construct and scientific research offer reference basis. By analyzing real examples, the paper makes the following conclusions:1.Overall, the bridge of south-to-north water transfer project was properly designed. The height of the box girder and thickness of roof and plate along with all the other parameters are similar to those of existed bridges. The configuration of both pre-stress steels and normal steels are accurate. The level of stress box girder can meet the requirements of specification. The combination effect of structural stress and stiffness under bridge operation stage meets the design requirements and specification.2.Calculation based on the beam element model as a whole, In the important position based on space block element model for calculation of design and calculation method is more practical design and calculation method. According to the calculation result, using suitable steel configuration (include prestressed reinforcing steel and non prestressed reinforcing steel) and so on, fully considering the bridge changes due to temperature changing, concrete’s shrink/changes, time, weather condition and such in the bridge construction process, properly adjust the design parameter to ensure the safety of bridge.3.This paper analysis the major reasons of scratching in midspan downwarping and box girder cracking that the main crossbeam of the PC continuous rigid bridge, also the thesis provides some suggestions about how to avoid the problems mentioned above as well as the design method of box girder web, roof and floor to prevent crack; by discussing about the closure construction technology, this thesis gives some advice about construction attention and specific requirements on closure construction of the PC continuous rigid bridge of the South-to-North water transfer project, thus to ensure the South-to-North water transfer project run smoothly.
