Fast passenger transportation has become the development trend of China railway. Maintenance of the EMU is the important guarantee to ensure the safe, efficient operation of high speed railway. At present, the degree of localization on foreign EMUs is increasing, and domestic EMUs is running faster, even more than the speed of the prototype vehicle. The current EMU maintenance system of the EMU depot has been unable to meet the needs of the development of high-speed railway in China, the reform of the repair class and repair system is urgently needed. With the domestic EMU gradually go out of the country. It has a profound significance to establish the EMU maintenance system with Chinese characteristics.This thesis studies statistical analysis of the fault recording of EMU operation and maintenance process. The high frequency fault in the kind of our country specific operating environment has obtained preliminarily, and analyses the fault by FMECA(Failure mode, effect and criticality analysis).It establish theory and data base for the appropriate maintenance plans and methods of the key components of the EMU. By the means of analyzing trailer brake pad life, get the life distribution model of the EMU’s main consumable components.This thesis is based on reliability engineering, to determine the maintenance methods of the key components by using criticality analysis,simplify the selection and parameter estimation of the life distribution model through MATLAB programming. Finally, from the theory and examples, maintenance cycle model is established, based on mission reliability model,the minimum costs model and the maximum effective mode.
