Discrete equipment manufacturing industry, the foundation of industrial evolution in China, plays an essential role in manufacturing industry. It features wide varieties, small batch, and customized production with flexible manufacturing as its mode of production. To shorten the response speed of the workshop production to customer needs and improve its competitiveness, the large discrete equipment manufacturing enterprise put forward the goal of achieving agile manufacturing based on the flexible manufacturing. Efficient workshop manufacturing scheduling can improve the efficiency of the workshop, shorten product production cycle, and then to promote the attainment of the goal. However, investigation has revealed that at present workshop manufacturing scheduling of most discrete equipment manufacturing enterprise is by artificial static scheduling which is not very ideal in terms of real-time, flexibility and dynamic. Therefore, it is needed to study workshop large-scale dynamic manufacturing scheduling system with real-time and flexible features that suit for discrete equipment manufacturing industry. According to research and analysis, it is found that there are mainly two aspects of problems in this research:one is the problem of real-time collection of workshop distributed production data and real-time transmission of scheduling instructions; another is the study problem of the large-scale dynamic manufacturing scheduling algorithm real-time and flexible features.For the first problem, it was used in this paper to replace artificial collection of distributed production data with real-time collection way of workshop distributed production data based on manufacturing workshop real-time information network. Based on the analysis of workshop production environment of discrete equipment manufacturing industry, it is put forward in this paper three kinds of the workshop real-time information network with multiple characteristics:workshop real-time information network with resistance to workshop electromagnetic interference based on RS485bus three-layer structure, another with avoid workshop wiring function based on433M wireless communications four-layer structure and the other can make full use of the resources based on computer network. On the basis of production environment of different workshops, when construction real-time information network, one can choose from the above a certain workshop real-time information network structure to form a single network mode or from several workshop real-time information network to form the hybrid network model.For the second problem, Multi-Agent manufacturing scheduling algorithm with parallel computing capacity is adopted in this paper to solve the large, complex problems. In order to reduce the influence of manufacturing workshop random emergency and frequent changes of production orders to the scheduling, the contract model with equipment Agent as the tender is adopted to achieve the matching of equipment Agent and tasks Agent. In addition, in order to reduce the scheduling cycle, double heuristic rules are applied to improve the contract net model with equipment Agent as its tender. Accordingly, improved Multi-Agent production scheduling with equipment Agent as the tender was proposed, which can satisfy the requirements of real time and flexibility of workshop large-scale dynamic production scheduling.In order to test the feasibility and effect of workshop real-time information network and manufacturing scheduling algorithm, workshop manufacturing scheduling system based on them is established in two subsidiary companies of a certain Guangdong mechanical and electronic Co., LTD of large ceramic equipment manufacturing enterprise. Through comparison between the workshop manufacturing scheduling system scheduling effect and the original artificial static scheduling effect, it is found that the workshop manufacturing scheduling system has evident advantages in dynamic scheduling, real-time and flexibility, which fully demonstrates the feasibility of suggested workshop real-time information network and workshop manufacturing scheduling algorithm.
