With the progress of the reform and opening up, and economic prosperity, cultural development, people’s aesthetic standard is increasing, long-span spatial structures came into being. It has a beautiful architecture, reasonable force, covering the span, using functions, and many other advantages. It was welcomed by people. It’s deep concern at home and abroad. There are broad prospects for development.To ensure the long-span spatial structures subject to reasonable, safe, experts research on all aspects. So far, research results achieved great successes, but there is still a lot of research on thorough. For example, for wind studies of large-span spatial structures, wind-induced vibration coefficient has not been clearly defined in the specification. Reference wind-induced vibration coefficient of other structures is blindness and often unreasonable. However, for large-span spatial structures, wind load often played a controlling role. Therefore, study on wind load characteristics of this type of structure is of great importance!With Shanxi li shi large coal bunker construction in the background, this article did some research on wind load characteristics and the selection and design of structures. Main content are as follows:1、Through comparative analysis of programes from the perspective of safety, economy and applicability, the various parameters and type selection are determined.2、General structural analysis and design software SAP2000is used for in-depth and detailed structural analysis. It is conclusion that security and economic indicators of structure meet the requirements.3、Using the current international popular commercial CFD package FLUENT to do numerical wind tunnel simulation, we analyze wind pressure distribution and calculated wind load shape coefficient of each region.according to the simulation results.4、Based on FEM and the local mean wind pressure coefficient and time history of fluctuating pressures obtained from rigid model wind tunnel testing, the equivalent wind load factors of a long-span spatial structure were calculated by using FEM calculation software ANSYS.5、Using the shape factors and the equivalent wind load factors averaged in different regions of the structure, the wind loads on the long-span spatial. Structure were calculated for the designers.
