Bridge is one of the most vital traffic facilities, which can be used for fifty to one hundred years. As the time goes by, various sorts of damages of the structure system will occur due to environment erosions, natural disasters, fatigues and aging of materials, increasing of vehicle loads. There will be disastrous accidents happened without checking and maintaining on time. Therefore, it is vital to detect the physical conditions and evaluate the loading ability of exsiting bridges regularly in order to guarantee the safe operation of them.As an economical, artistic and large-span bridge, reinforced concrete arch bridges are widely used in bridge constructions. After detecting of such bridges, there are some common problems exsiting, such as loading deficiency, deforming of arch axis, serious breakage of horizontal joints system and weakness of the whole structure. The thesis combines the structure and force features of reinforced concrete arch bridges and discusses the checked contents, methods and processes. On the other hand, it analyses the evaluation of practical working conditions of bridge structure based on engineering projects, according to the data of dynamic and dead loads, and proposes the conclusions which can be used in other engineering projects based on assistant safty evaluation, according to finite element analysis theory calculation.
