With the development and prosperity of communications and transport, traffic accidents happen frequently, one of the main reasons is that the artifical guide (steering) mode can’t constantly assure the correctness of guide. Especially in heavy rain, fog and other inclement weather, the driver can’t correctly judge the direction in time because of low visibility, so the probability of traffic accidents is higher. Aimed at the problems mentioned above, this paper studies on automated guide technology of electro-tricycle based on double-arms.Firstly, the paper analysed the necessity of automated guide technology applied to active vehicle safety control, and then sumed up the reseach state of automated guide technology. In allusion to the characteristics of highway, the conceptual model of an electro-tricycle based on double-arms was presented. According to the work principle and characteristics of the step-motor and photoelectric encoder, system overall scheme and block diagram were established. In this system, the guided angular deviation was obtained through the data acquisition and calculation, the automated deflexion of the directive wheel was realized by control of the rotation angle of step-motor.Secondly, drive circuit of two-phase step motor was designed on the basis of the overall scheme, the hardware test platform was set up using TMS320LF2407as the main control chip; functions of the software design were nailed down in accordance with the system information flow chart, and then the software design was accomplished by steps of drawing the software flow peattern and writing the codes of QEP, PWM and control of the step motor.Finally, system debugging of the hardware and software was finished on the test platform, the main relevant data was also recorded and analysed. The test result showed that the automated guided system of the electric-tricycle based on double-arms was able to realize the adjustment of the car’s traffic direction, enhance the safety and reliability, it was also available as a reference for design of the antomated guided vehicle system.
