In this paper, taking Tuoketuo Zhungeer Yellow river super large bridge as an example, based on the basic theory of the seismic response analysis, two methods including response spectrum analysis and dynamic time-history analysis of earthquake were applied to the bridge. The contents contained as follows:1. The three-dimensional finite element model was established and the free-vibration characteristics of the bridge was calculated.2.The bridge’s seismic response and free-vribration characteristics which were caused by the pile-soil interaction, were studied based on the geological conditions of bridge site.3.Used spectrum response analysis method and dynamic time-history analysis method has evaluated the seismic response of Tuoketuo Zhungeer Yellow river super large bridge, and compared the results of different methods.4.The bridge’s seismic response under different traveling wave velocities by taking traveling wave effect into consideration, and then the calculated results were compared with the data under the coincident earthquake excitation. The main conclusions drawn from above analysis include:1.The free-vibration period of the bridge has been increased by the pile-soil-structure interaction,at the same time the horizontal displacement of the bridge would be increased and the internal force of the middle abutment pier would be decreased after added the seismic action.2.Under the horizontal earthquake ground motion, the displacement of X and Y direction of the long span continuous beam bridge took first place.Meanwhile the displacement of the Z direction of the long span continuous beam bridge is almost zero.3.The travelling wave effect has made the vibration of the bridge come to greatter changes were compared with the coincident earthquake excitation, has not noticeable influence on the lateral seismic effect of the bridge, but changed the longitudinal seismic effect. decreased the middle abutment pier’s seismic response but increased the others’s.
