Research Of Contemporary Urban Landform Architecture Design

In urban environment, architecture is involved by a lot of exterior elements. Quick developments of urban constructions and complex city life make landscapes of cities destructed and occupied, which make the city grounds unbearable. In this background, architecture is influenced by the ideas from other academic subjects, searching the integration with Urbanism and Landscape Science. As a result, Landform Architecture as a new design tactic to resolve urban problems is revived again in the end of the20th century.The paper first introduces the history of development of Landform Architecture and related theories, and then analyzes the representative features of Landform Architecture from angle of view of urban aspect, architecture aspect and landscape aspect, which give prominence to the modes how Landform Architectures involve into complicated urban systems; the paper also introduces the tactics how Landform Architectures realize the harmonious development of architectures and cities from four respects which are responding city terrain, reconstructing city grounds, stimulating city energy and integrating city space. The methods of research will adopt case studies and contrast analyzing of collections of typical projects, which can reveal the form of logical operations tactics.In the end of the paper, a summary will be given according to the investigation of domestic Landform Architecture, to indicate the enormous gap in related fields between China and western countries at the aspects of design conceptions and techniques, and to sum up some existing problems of domestic related fields. Hoping that the paper can investigate a guiding policy on the future development and practice of domestic Landform Architecture.
