This paper makes main research on refractive information detecting device for children vision screening. Refractive information detecting device is used to detect the original refractive information of patients’eyes at a friendly distance, and transfer the information into digital signal which can be processed to calculate the eyes’ diopter. Meanwhile, the detecting device does not need the patient to do much reaction during the detection. It is one of the principal parts of the children vision screening system.The former refractive information detection was mainly based on the principle of Hartmann-Shack wave-front sensor, but this paper has designed a different refractive information detecting device with more simple construction, smaller volume and lower cost. Firstly, safe power infrared laser is connected with some plastic optical fiber to form a number of light points. And then, these light points are arranged into a square lattice to image in the children’s eyes, transferring the refractive information into optical image information. Secondly, a lens system is designed to assist CMOS image sensor to capture the optical image and get digital image signal which can be processed to calculate eyes’diopter. Finally, the device is connected to PC through USB interface, and uploads the digital image signal to PC, on which the interactive software is developed to control the device, display and store the digital image signal.This paper makes analysis on how to choose and how to design different modules of refractive information detecting device of this paper, and verifies the feasibility of this design through experiments.
