With the vigorous development of the railway industry, the construction of railway informatization system is also paid more and more attention by the appropriate departments. However, analysising the existing railway information system, we can find that most of them are in text form, all kinds of information can’t effectively integrate and comprehensive utilize, and they’re in Low expression efficiency. With the concept of "digital railway" being proposed, and3D GIS technology having furthest realized the integration of all railway information resources in every department, solving railway problem in digital way becomes an important developing direction in the construction of Railway informatization system. The primary task for the construction of digital railway is building the rail track region into a3D scene, as the long span and complex equipments in the railway track, it is a very complicated process for manual modeling in high precision. In the view of this situation, this paper takes full advantage of the relatively stationary characteristics in the high-speed railway features, and divide the object model into model units, through the way automatically mixing and matching the model units, build the virtual scene of the high-speed railway fast. In this way, the reusable utilizing rate is raised and it’s easier for model construction.Based on the above ideas, the paper proposes the method of the3D geometric modeling of high-speed railway with the splicing of model units. This method divides the high-speed railway into multiple layers, and corresponds every model unit into a layer. The specific ideas as follow: Firstly, get the baseline data from the circuit design information; Secondly, make the positional parameters file based on the relationship between each layer and the baseline and the characteristics of each model unit, and then, generate the point data of every layer from the baseline and the file; Thirdly, according to the modeling platform, calculate the transform parameters in seting, registrating and splicing the spatial reference of the point data; Fourth, import point data and model units and complete the model splicing, and then, analysis the modeling accuracy. This paper takes factors of efficiency of the3D display into account, and select ArcGlobe as the modeling platform. In order to make the whole process easier, a program is used to calculate the setting and splicing parameter of the point data in each unit model. The method is verified by historical high-speed railway data, and the experimental results show that:The method in this paper has implemented the automatic modeling of high-speed railway to a certain extent.
