With the continuous development of society and urbanization process gradually accelerated, urban rail transit becomes a mainstream mode of transportation since its fast and convenient features. Therefore, We should put forward more strict requirement to urban rail transit in the aspects of security, reliability, transport efficiency and overall service quality to meet the challenges of the modern transportation industry.At present, most of the metro project has an urgent need to conduct an accurate simulate calculation for the line layout, traffic organization and etc. in the early stage of design according to the operation needs. To this end we independently develop and perfect a set of urban rail transit train track and turn-back capacity simulation system.It is combined with the recommended signal system standard and uses the actual line data to make traction calculation, operation and tracking simulation, which runs on the computer-aided design platform, having the advantage of calculation of turn-back capacity and graphical performance analysis of the train. This simulation system not only can validate the design of the line design, traffic organization, station wiring and etc., but also realize the optimal allocation of the civil engineering and mechanical and electrical systems under the premise of ensuring safety, meeting the needs of the design of the related system.The paper makes a lengthy summary of the train track and turn-back capacity simulation system structures, the design principles and the main function of each subsystem. On this basis, we make a detailed analysis of the performance analysis subsystem. The paper firstly elaborates on the calculation principles of the main line system capacity analysis, including the calculation of interval train track, safety braking distance, safety protection distance, safety distance, train average travel speed and so on. Secondly, the paper introduces the related concepts of main influence factors and calculation methods of turn-back capacity. Thirdly this paper summarizes the layout pattern of turn-back station as same as its advantages and disadvantages, which emphatically analyzes the technology process of two fundamental turn-back modes called front turn-back station and back turn-back station including significant parameters such as each unit process time and the formulas of turn-back headway based on our computer simulation. The third and forth parts are especially important, which is the highlight in this paper, giving us an important way to do performance analysis and calculate turn-back capacity.In the end, the paper on one hand describes how to implement the performance analysis simulation and analyzes the results of illustrations. On the other hand it also demonstrates the effective and practical ability of the simulation system with reality engineer design. In conclusion we give a summary of this paper and make a prospect of project in the aspects of which can be extended in the future.
