| The railway based transport terminal, which has the railway passenger transport as the main traffic mode with highway passenger transport, metro, bus and etc. as the distributed traffic modes, is playing a much more significant role in the regional and urban passenger transport system, as well as in the development of the society and economy. Providing a better service to the passenger is becoming the priority of the terminal to adjust the requirement of the human-oriented society. The terminal facilities should be analyzed to design a terminal with high efficiency and reliability which could ensure the passenger receives a rapid, safe, convenient and comfortable transfer service. In order to improve the railway based terminal design approaches, a study on scale determination service of facilities is proposed by the paper.Firstly, the primary concepts of the railway based transport terminal are described by analyzing the main function of the terminal and the function orientation of each traffic mode, as well as the transfer type and process.Secondly, aiming at the approach to improve the level of service of the terminal, the definition of "service facility" is given based on the description of the railway based transport terminal facility formation. Service facilities, which are orienting to the passengers and providing the transfer service, composing the interface between the terminal and the passenger, are classified into six categories:waiting facility, queuing facility, distribution facility, passage facility information facility and barrier-free facility.Thirdly, the micro-and macro-analysis on passenger characteristics are adoped to develop a set of scale determination approaches of the waiting facility, queuing facility, distribution facility and passage facility. A study on service facility simulation, as well as the simulation softwares is described based on the mechanism of service facilities of each category.Finally, a scale determination software is developed based on the Qt platform, applying the scale determination approaches. The scale determination approaches and software are validated through a case on the service facility scale determination. |
