Abstract/Summary:
As the key bearing components of high speed train, the design of wheel and axle is of great importance of the safety of railway transportation. The design and development of axle is a repeating procedure of’design-evaluation-design’. The traditional manual procedure is time consuming and huge workload. In the recent decades, the updating speed of now products is faster, and it is important to short the develop circle, reduce cost and improving quality of products if the rolling stock companies to stay competitive. So to realize the automation design, shorten the design circle in order to reduce costs means a lot to this industry. By the feature modeling of the axle, this paper studied the method for strength computation while parts drawing generating parametrically, in order to analysis the results rapidly and realize data visualization and fit in with the fast updating of modern products, OpenGL technology was introduced to post-processing stage, in this way, large mount of information hidden in the results can be displayed graphically so that users can learn the results intuitionally and rapidly.With the tool of Visual C++6.0and Solid Works, performing secondary development for drawing program and user interface designing, realize parametric driven method for axle parts parametrical feature design. There are two section in this design: first is the strength computation for the axle and second is the conformation of the parameters for the axle. The computation strength parametric design decided the extreme size and is the foundation for the parametric design. The structural parameters design assure not only the size satisfies the extreme limits but also fully consider the manufacturability, economical efficiency and stress concentration. With the purpose of high efficiency and high speed, based on the structure feature of axle and the comparison of several secondary development connector, develop parametric design plug-in for axle with the tool of Visual C++6.0, the results indicated that this system shortened the product design circle dramatically, improved the design efficiency and means a lot to research and engineering.With the development in high speed, heavy loading and lightweight, the serving environment of wheels of railcars becomes more and more complicated, which induces more fatigue cracking and local cracks. It is necessary to investigate the fatigue strength and life span of wheels thoroughly. But experiments on these subjects are expensive and time consuming, so based on the finite element theory, random loading research and multi body dynamics software, and taking the elastic deformation and structure vibration in to consideration, this paper introduced flexible body notion into wheel analysis. With the method of finite element analysis, check the fatigue strength of wheels, establish the multi body dynamics model and get the time history of loading of wheels in the lateral direction and vertical direction. With all above results, the software Code and the S-N curve, predict the fatigue life of wheel of railcars. This fatigue life prediction method is based on the virtual prototype technology; it can predict the vulnerable spot of the wheel set during the design stage, so that it can provide the ore tics proof for optimization design of wheelset.
