The Characteristics Of Solar Powered Refrigeration System With Energy Storage Technology During An Air-conditioning Season

Combining the solar energy absorption refrigeration and new potential storage technology, taking an air-conditioning building which is located near middle or downstream of the Yangtze River as an example, the operating characteristics of the solar energy storage/refrigeration system are discussed in the air-conditioning season. According to ambient temperature, cooling loads, and solar radiation intensity changing, the variations of the initial and final working operation parameters in the solution bank, stored energy in the tanks, COP and energy storage density of the system with date are obtained by the numerical simulation. And the specific operating characteristics are compared to the non-designed days and a given day.Simulation results show that the solar energy storage/refrigeration system, which is cooled down by water, can meet the required cooling loads of the building under the continuous sunny conditions during the whole air-conditioning season. To balance the collection and consumption energy, the system can adjust automatically by changing the initial parameters of working operation parameters in the solution bank. The initial concentration of the non-designed days is higher than the given day, so there are still cooling potential surplus, which can be used for refrigeration when the solar energy is insufficient in overcast weather. Therefore, with respect to the use of low-grade heat source, the system has considerable superiority to be spread. Moreover, this paper proposes brief analysis under cloudy in conditional season and shows the variations of the working operation parameters.To achieve better operating characteristics and more economic advantage, an optimized designation is stilled needed from collector area, pavement of the pipes and structure setting.
