Experimental Study On The Flow Field Around Cylinder Piers In The Limited Depth Water

One dynamical factor of bridge pier scouring is Flow pulsation in the wake of flow behind Bridge pier. And eddy structure is the main part of water flow pulsation. So the research of the development of the eddy structure and energy transfer process can help to understand Piers local scour force.In this paper, based on the physical model experiment, using the PIV technology, the transverse section of flow field behind the model is measured. Then, tail vortex swing cycle is verified, time-mean flow field and The trend of time-mean flow field behind model is analysed, including time-mean streamline and flow velocity changing pattern. ADV is used to measure3D instantaneous velocity. The dominant frequency of flow field behind the model is analysed Pre-cyclist is discovered from the velocity measurement result.Nine different condition is used:three flow speed, three diameters of the cylinder model. Based on the analysis of the different experimental conditions and analyzed the differences between the contrast, got several valuable experiment pictures. For the days of research provides a reference.
