The structural vibration control technology can effectively reduce the dynamic response of structure when suffering earthquake, strong winds, vehicles, ocean waves or other dynamic excitations. It is a new positive and effective way which can effectively improve the ability of structure resist the vibration and disaster. In the exploration of the active control, semi-active control, intelligent control technology, control algorithm is a critical part of the research.Prof D.P.Stoten from the Bristol University developed the Minimum Control Synthesis (MCS) adaptive control algorithm. The process of this algorithm will not depend on the precise parameters of structural model and it has fine robust performance and control effect. As a result, it overcomes the limitation of classical control theory because classical theory is only suitable for linear structure with slow parameter variation on line. Qu Weilian, Tu Jianwei applied reference model-MCS adaptive control algorithms in Active Mass Damper (AMD) control system, proposed two reference models: seismic energy reduction model and linear quadratic regular(极点配置)control model, complete control parameter analysis and system simulation analysis.This thesis is follow their research, we completed the experiment of MCS control algorithm of AMD on shake table,which is the second generation shake table produced by Quanser company in Canada. The main contribution as following:1. Finish the experiment of a two floors frame structure with AMD system which under the reference model MCS adaptive control algorithm on shake table II.2. Test the parameters of the frame structure, then finish the experiment of it under no control algorithm and pole placement control algorithm each on shake table.3Optimize the real-time parameters’of MCS adaptive control algorithm, finish the experiment of the structure under MCS and pole placement control algorithm each on shake table. Compare the difference of structures’dynamic response when suffering the simulation of a earthquake.
