Auto industry is one of the pillar industries, as the market demand for new cars speeding up, the car renewal cycle is shorter, the body design efficiency and manufacturing quality directly restricts the development of the car industry. As the most important part of the body, Auto-body panel play an important role, it is the most conspicuous features difference between one car and another, it influences the car driving resistance directly, it represents the car manufacturers product positioning, the stand or fall of the auto-body panel quality represent the vehicle quality subjectively.High quality of the auto-body panel is in this background, high quality auto-body panel requirement the auto-body panel must be of good size accuracy to ensure the accuracy and replacement of the welding or assembly; Good shape of surface meets the needs of design of the whole automobile body, reflects the body shape and style; There is not a crack, wrinkle, indentation, bruise, and other quality problem in the high quality surface, Chine line requires clear, flat, smooth, transition, uniform and so on, And, furthermore it also asks to have good rigidity and technology. The modern computer aided technology has brought great changes in the development of the car body, and the use of advanced CAD/CAE technology is good for design and manufacture.Now each big car company pursue the novelty of body, unconventional or unorthodox, seeking personalized, leading to the body surface are diverse and complex. For the high quality complex curved surface, it is difficult to use a surface to describe in the reverse process of reconstruction. Usually we use many individual surfaces joining together into a surface. In order to guarantee the quality of the body surface, we should ensure the quality of every one of the base, and make surface and the smooth transition between surfaces, It will need to study a reasonable method for surface reconstruction and surface fitting.But even if we design a high quality Auto-body panel, The large deformation in forming process of sheet metal stamping, the nonlinear of material itself, the selection and mismatch of parameters such as punch, die, blank holders, drawbead might have caused the sheet metal stamping of covering parts appear wrinkling, rebound or cracking phenomena which affect the appearance quality car. so it is important before the development of the mould to simulate the digital model, and analysis the parameters which affecting the surface quality.This paper introduces the status and technical definition of the high quality auto-body panel,the key problems should be paied attention to in order to ensure the high quality of the auto-body panel in surface reconstruction, mainly for the reconstruction process of surface block method, the method of curved surface joining together and whether the surface whether meet the requirements of the inspection method, etc. This paper introduce a surface reconstruction of front wing of a SUV, using the software CATIA. In addition to ensure that in the manufacturing process meet high quality auto-body panel technical requirements, and introduces the CAE software DYNAFORM on the importance of forming simulation, through the simulation result to find out the influence factors on the quality of the molding, and modified, thus providing the theory basis for auto-body panel mould manufacturing.
