With the development of diesel engine, its thermal load is raising continuously, as well as its key component piston. So, the research to thermal load of piston is becoming a very important area of performance optimization. In this dissertation, the thermal load of diesel engine of model6K10is researched from engineering application. The finite element model of piston, three-dimensional combustion model inside the cylinder and cooling oil channel model inside the piston are established. With the heat transfer coefficient of gas side and temperature boundary condition calculated from three-dimensional combustion simulation inside the cylinder, and with thermal boundary condition inside the cooling oil duct by the method of fluid-solid coupling, we can use finite element analysis software to research the temperature field and thermal stress of piston. We also carry out the actual test to temperature field of pistons of diesel engine cylinders by hardness tucks way. By comparing the test and simulation results, the thermal load of piston is researched comprehensively. The dissertation is divided into five chapters, briefed as follows; The history and current situation of the development of diesel engine at home and abroad are reviewed, as well as the thermal transmission and thermal load of diesel engine and its key components. Then the application of finite element analysis and relative business software are introduced, and the purpose and main contents of this research are mentioned. The method of finite element analysis is used in the research of simulation of temperature field and thermal stress of piston, and by comparing with the data from the measurement, the thermal load of piston is studied.Several major methods and relatively theory and principles of testing the thermal load of diesel engine are introduced, including conventional methods and unconventional methods of measurement. And the methods of simulation are also introduced, including finite element method, finite difference method and boundary element method. In this dissertation, the historical development, the theory principles and method of solving are detailedly introduced, as well as commercial software ANSYS.The significance of measurement of thermal load of diesel engine piston is analyzed, and in this dissertation, we use hardness tucks way. The test bench and related equipment and instruments are introduced, as well as the detailed schedule, preparation, method and main attentions. Then the temperature of piston acquired, collected and analyzed.Three-dimensional finite element model of piston is created, and we do numerical simulation to the cooling oil duct inside the piston to determine its thermal boundary conditions. With three-dimensional combustion simulation inside cylinder and empirical formula, the heat transfer coefficient of gas side of piston and temperature boundary conditions are certain. After comparing with test measurement results and numerical simulation results, we can determine the credibility of the simulation results. With the comparison, we can make a whole evaluation and research to the thermal load of piston.
