Disc type solar thermal power generation technology is the most potential of the technology in solar thermal utilization, and has a broad development prospects. Stirling engine is the core components of thermal power conversion in disc type solar thermal power generation system. The performance of Stirling engine decideds to the efficiency of the disc type solar thermal power system. Therefore, how to improve the engine’s power output and efficiency is the key problem to be solved.Firstly,this paper researches the key technology--ynamic seals of piston rod, which restricts the power and efficiency of Stirling engine.The article analyses several sealing device and structure of piston rod that used in Stirling engine. Based on several sealing structures’sealing performance and common failure,sliding sealing structure is more suitable for Stirling engine piston rod seal under special conditions A reasonable structure improvement is given, and a new sliding sealing structure is designed. This paper focuses on the sealing structure, sealing principle and the mechanical analysisThe piston rod sliding seals has a rigorous requirement for the properties of materials. Direct of the physical and chemical properties of seal material (filling PTFE),combining with Stirling engine piston rod seal’s actual working condition (high temperature, high pressure, high speed), standard friction and wear experiment machines are employed to do a research under the practical conditions. Combined the theory analysis with the experimental research,the influence law of the tribological properties of the actual working condition for sealing material is explored.To enhance the filled materials for sealing,different packings are used to fill PTFE composites, the influence law of friction and wear performance are evaluated.On this basis, through the analysis of the friction coefficient and the volume of wear loss,the seal material tribological friction and wear mechanism are explained.
