Electronic stability program can effectively reduce vehicle accident rate and improve the performance of the automotive active safety. The vehicles with ESP which is producted by overseas company account foronly20%in China. In order to reduce production costs and improve the rate of vehicle with ESP, we must master the core technology of ESP.This paper presents three vehicle models:Linear model of two degrees of freedom, nonlinear model of two degrees of freedom and the multi-body dynamics vehicle model based on the Adams/Car. Compared with model established in the Matlab/Simulink, multi-body dynamics vehicle model based、on the Adams/Car is more close to the actual vehicle, it is convenient to simulate actual vehicle motion conditions. In contrast to the linear model, the simulation for steering wheel angle step-input and sine-swept input on the base of the nonlinear model and multi-body dynamics model are carried out to discuss the main problems of vehicle stability.To solve the main problems for vehicle stability, the paper designed the adaptive fuzzy control system which is based on the fuzzy control theory. With the adaptive fuzzy control system, the simulation of the nonlinear model of two degrees of freedom and full vehicle multi-body dynamics model are carried out, which show that the designed control system can obviously improve the vehicle handling stability of different speed.On the foundation of the pure theoretical simulation, the hardware in the loop simulation, on-line parameters adjustment, the observed data and the data of the operation is realized, through the use of the dSPACE software which improves the development efficiency. In addition, the simulation results of Matlab/Simulink are consistent with the results of real time simulation, which verifies the accuracy and effectiveness of the controller model.
