| In recent decades, the number of structural progressive collapse events which caused by gas explosion, terrorist attack and fire have increased sharply, resulting in serious casualties and property losses. The design of structural resisting to progressive collapse is very difficult and costs too much, and the ordinary structures only need to carry out the conceptual design. Ductility is an important aspect in the conceptual design and plays a very important role in the redistribution of internal force in the structure. Currently, because China’s structural design specification do not have very detailed provisions on the ductility for structural resisting to progressive collapse, the Structural Engineers rarely take it into account in the engineering project. So this dissertation will study on the ductility for structural resisting to progressive collapse. The main contents are as follows:(1) According to two experimental results and the corresponding results of ANSYS which carried out by our research group in the previous phase, the paper will study the resistant mechanism and failure mechanism of the structure in the whole process of progressive collapse and put forward the evaluative indicators of the ductility for structural resisting to progressive collapse;(2) Based on the concept and the effect of ductility in the structural resisting to progressive collapse, the paper will conduct theoretical analysis to deduce the influential factors affecting ductility and put forward measures that improve the ductility;(3) Based on the results of theoretical analysis, the paper select a small part of the experimental model as the object of study to conduct further analysis by using finite element analysis software—ANSYS. After this, the original experimental model will be improved and carried out a comparative analysis on the ductility for structural resisting to progressive collapse;(4) According to the conclusions of analysis above, combined with the other literature, the paper will further discuss how to improve the ductility for structural resisting to progressive collapse better in the design of engineering project and give some practical proposals. |
