Turbo fan has large power consumption in coal-fired power plants, and its economic operation play an important role in reducing power consumption of the power plant and improving the power plant comprehensive benefit. But, due to the excessive safety factor and ignore power consumption factors in the design process of the fan, the fan exist the problems of too big allowance and low efficiency in actual operation process, and waste an enormous amount of electricity.Based on some existing fan transformation methods and actual project of the power plant, this paper puts forward a new method of fan transformation-reducing allowance by optimizing blade.First of all, based on the measured data of axial flow fan, this paper build a3d model of fan prototype, and transform the fan prototype according to reform plan. And then this paper mesh and set boundary conditions for all models, import grid file into Fluent software, do numerical simulation for axial flow fan by a SIMPLE algorithm, RNG k-e turbulent model and second order upwind.By analyzing simulation results of the fan prototype, this paper get the conclusion of model reasonable and the simulation results reliable. And then by the comparative analysis of all models’simulation results, the results show that reducing allowance by optimizing blade can very good reduce fan allowance and fan power consumption, have very good electricity-saving effect, and on the later can provide a reference for fan electricity-saving transformation.
