This paper mainly studied pitch control system of wind turbine. Firstly, it analyzed the development of wind power at home and abroad. After analyze the operating principles of wind turbines, the models of a large-scale variable pitch variable speed wind turbine were constructed based on those principals during the results of previous studies. This paper also analyzes the application of the PID controller, focusing on the pitch angle control at the conditions of high wind speed. The simulation results show that the traditional PID control strategy for variable pitch in wind turbine cannot achieve ideal control. In this thesis, new pitch controllers based on generalized predictive control theory are designed to improve the power-output quality of wind turbines. Simulation results show that the methods are effective in wind speed interference suppression and constant power control.
