The friction energy dissipation braced system is one of the structural vibration mitigation and control technology. Through extensive research, it has been widely used in practical engineering because of the excellent effect in reducing vibration. Considering the special circumstances of Yunnan region, YNEERI studied an energy dissipation frame system consisting of RC brace and steel-rubber friction dissipater, which is a kind of low-cost and high-performance vibration mitigation and control technology. This paper focuses on the technology for further research.Firstly, the thesis reviews and summarizes the development and application of the structural vibration mitigation and control technology all over the word, and focuses on the basic principles and calculation methods of the low cost RC friction energy dissipation brace system. Secondly, a multi-storey RC frame structure is simplified to a simple plane frame, which is added K-type RC brace and steel-rubber friction damper in. After that, the mode is established by the finite element software SAP2000. Then the elastic response spectrum analysis, time history under the minor seismic and major seismic, and nonlinear static analysis are carried out in this thesis. The performance of structural earthquake-resistance, structural components of the internal forces and energy dissipation effects of damper are profoundly studied, in order to find the right K-type brace to replace the traditional X-type brace. Finally, the section dimensions of RC column and beam in the multi-storey frame are reduced in order to make the certain performance beyond the codes. And then some K-type and X-type RC braces and steel-rubber friction dampers are added in the right place of the frame in order to verify the conclusions obtained by using the finite element software to analyze the structure.Finally, combining with the problems in the process of research, this thesis brings forward the substance and development orientation of further study. Analyzed on the K-type friction energy dissipation braced system must can play a positive role in promoting the development of the friction energy dissipation technology.
