The friction damped braced frame system, which is one of the passive control techniques, has been applied widely in the civil engineering. The development of research on technology for structure control is introduced. The theory and application of the friction damped frame system is detailed. It is combined an engineering application of 6 frame structures which are entirely calculated by using the software as PKPM and ETABS, and the result are compared. By ETABS, model of RC fraction energy dissipation braced frame structures are established. Mode-superposition response spectrum of minor seismic and elastic time-history analysis of energy dissipation braced model is carried out in this paper. And made a conclusion:when the common structure don't follow the codes, RC friction energy dissipation braced structure can provide enough horizon stiffness, and making a good control of the horizon displacement as minor seismic is input. However, it should be noted that all axial compression ratio of structures with the dissipaters cannot meet the requirements, which may be caused by the increase of internal force of element in the building with dissipaters, the low intensity and small size of original element. So, When reinforcing existed structures with RC brace and steel-rubber friction dissipaters, first, it should enhance the intensity of original frame that will be fixed on dissipater, and then fix the dissipater on the frame firmly to guarantee the dissipater can work effectively in the frame.Based on the forgoing analysis of frame structures, some measures to reinforce existed structures with RC brace and steel-rubber friction dissipaters are proposed. This paper has some reference meaning for reinforcement of existed frame structures with RC brace and steel-rubber friction dissipater, but it needs further study for design and fixing of the dissipater used in frame structures.
