This paper is to research the behavior of uniplanar K-shape of tube-plate connectionmade of circle hollow steel sections through simple experiment in the lab and comparedwith the results of finite element analysis, the analysis include two parts as depicted inthe thesis.Steel tube nodes are widely used in the train waiting room、electric communicationtowers and other storeroom because of its good characters such as favourable properties forresisting compression、bending and torsion., in those important structures it was treated assupport member web member especially in the frame structure. To simplify the installationof those nodes and avoid the complex weld work in the construction of the nodes, wecommonly jointing a piece of armor plate on the surface of the circle tube through the axe,then the minor tubes are jointing with the plate through welding or bolt. The tube-platenode’s conformation is very simple and need no other reinforcement,so it can avoid thecomplex welding word, thus reduce the cost. Currently, such node are gradually used in theengineering work. As is known all, the steel node’s ultimate strength and destroy mode arethe key points in the research. The Tube-plate node’s research is very little compared withthe run-through welding node, the reference formula is not included in the criterion of steelstructure which play a passive part in the utilize of the Tube-plate node. So this paper’sresearch plays a important part in the searching of theory and experimentation of uniplanarK-Tube-plate node. The main research works are concluded as follows:1、In the experimental study,20joints tests are completed,including10pure pressedjoints with axial forces,10press-bend joints loaded with axial forces,with the emphasison the influences of diameter and thickness of the main tube.2、Parameter research,Through consulting the formula of the utlimate strengh of K tuberun-through connection in the 《Code of Steel Structure Desigh》(GB50017-2003),and do a systemic parameter research for the invariablenes work capability through thelarge-scale software ANSYS.Through the compare of parameter, we get everyparameter’s influence to the utlimate strength.At last,we conclude a approximateformula of the ultimate strength of K Tube-Plate connection.3、numerical proofread:the tenet of this paper is analysis is leading, experimentations areassistant, make a comparison with the formula and experimentations results tovalidate the error and veracity.
