The node connection design is a very important part in the design of steelstructures, the importance of connection not only in its direct relationship to the safetyof the structure (and therefore, the design principle requires that the safety of theconnection to be much higher than the member), but the connection studies typicallyinvolve complex physical phenomena. The pursuit of high-performance steel structurecalls for a better performance of the connection, which is the main motivation steelstructure connected as the enduring theme in the steel research. In order to improve the mechanical properties of the bolted connection, filler platecausing the attention of some scholars, international technical regulations also related tothe bolted connection with filler plate. Since the end-plate connections in engineeringapplications, often due to processing errors caused by an irrational and bolt arrangementthere is a big gap between the end plate connections, filler plate is an easy to make up,but the current specification does not involve connection with filler plate designmethods and structural measures, the analysis becomes necessary for the connection.Based on the bolted connection with filler plate discussed, establish13group of thefinite element model, the specimen accounts not only the situation that may arise in theapplication, but also provides a common foundation among different specimens. The13group of specimens were analyzed by finite element method to study the main factorsaffecting the strength of the connection, which provides some useful suggestions for thedesign bolted connection with filler plate.
