The72hours after paving of the concrete pavement is usually defined as “early term”.(Pavement construction term). In the case of sub-base uniform support, the durability of theconcrete pavement mainly depends on the construction quality of the72hours. This period isan important stage of pavement strength and stress development, during which the pavementstrength isn’t fully formed. When the stress of concrete exceeds the concrete early strengthdue to the concrete hydration heat release, the concrete temperature humidity andmaintenance environment, cracks occur. If the cracks aren’t of good control, they will bringbig impact to the pavement long-term performance. According to lots of research, if effectivecontrol of crack is taken during the pavement construction, the probability of pavementservice life over30years will improve. So it is particularly important to have accurateforecast and assessment of early cracks. This paper mainly does some research on the factors that affect the early concrete cracks. We discuss the relationship of the early age concrete shrinkage with the material composition, the mixing proportion, environment, curing method by using the experimental means. so as toexplore early cracks of concrete pavement on the formation and development of the law, andput forward the corresponding measures to prevent and reduce early influence on theperformance of the cracks on the pavement. According to the results of the experiment wefind out to meet with the function of concrete road’s mixture ratio design of constructionscheme and maintenance method. In addition, this paper combines practical project, collecting the raw materials, meteorological data and construction maintenance methods to monitor. Further research aredone on concrete pavement performances during early age in summer with the aid of thematurity theory and software HIPERPAVEII exploited by FHWA. Theory basis is provided toavoid early age disease of cement pavement.
