Earthquake hurt Chinese much once, reducing the earthquake hazards means a lot for our country. The traditional anti-seismic structure is mainly to use the bearing capacity and deformation capacity of the structure and its components to resist the earthquake hazards; but the seismic isolated structure reduces the seismic response of the superstructure by setting isolation devices. The seismic isolated technology has become a positive and effective seismic isolated way with more than one century development history.This paper introduces the seismic isolated technology development and research present situation, then focuses on principles、sorts and the seismic isolated structure design of the seismic isolated technology.Experimental part of this article is based on the ELC and Kobe wave test data on a large-scale shaking table test by my mentor Professor Qinglai Chen which is a National Research Institutes Technology Research and Development Funds to Special Projects—"Building isolation practical technology and the research and development of the durability equipment". This paper uses the MATLAB software making the acceleration time-history analysis and the velocity time-history analysis of a6scale steel frame structure with the ratio of1:6which are excited by ELC wave and Kobe wave on two conditions of the isolation and the anti-seismic(ELC wave is the seismic wave which spreads horizontal, and Kobe wave is the seismic wave which spreads vertical. We compare the reaction of structures which excited by these two waves separately, mainly to discover the difference caused by the metal sliding isolation system between these two seismic waves with the different seismic focus direction, and provide corresponding scientific basis for design). The research results show that:1、From the acceleration time-history analysis excited by ELC wave and Kobe wave, the maximum acceleration isolation rate of the steel frame model from first floor to sixth floor which is excited by Kobe wave is lower than which is excited by ELC wave, the isolation effect of the metal sliding isolation system which is excited by ELC wave is better.2、From the velocity time-history analysis excited by ELC wave and Kobe wave, because the prominent velocity of the third floor on the anti-seismic condition, the prominent velocity isolation rate excited both by ELC wave and Kobe wave is highest; The other floors the prominent velocity isolation rate which is excited by Kobe wave is much lower than which is excited by ELC wave. The purpose of the seismic isolated structure is to reduce the seismic response of the superstructure, so the isolation effect of the metal sliding isolation system which is excited by ELC wave is better.3、The isolation effect of the metal isolation system which is excited by ELC wave is better than which is excited by Kobe wave, therefore, when vertical earthquake happens, the isolation effect of the metal sliding isolation system performances worse than non-vertical earthquake.
