With the improvement of scientific and technological level, the electricity load of China’s industry and other industries continue to increase, the application scope of electrical energy is expanded accordingly. More and more advanced electrical equipment have put into using. At the same time, the demanding of the power users increase. As the emergence of power quality problems, there are huge economic losses in the power generation and transmission process. More and more scientists began to study the power quality problems.At present, researchers are mainly concentrated on the issue of power quality disturbance of power quality problems. Disturbance problems affect the power quality directly, which will be a tremendous loss for electricity users and producers. Only to detect the exact location of the disturbance source, Administrator can exclude the disturbance source successfully, and then can perform the rule of "who pollutes, who governs" for rewards and punishments to improve the level of power quality. The research of disturbance source location has achieved some results, which mainly are locating algorithm, including the disturbance power law, the equivalent impedance method and matrix method. But these algorithms are not perfect.The paper proposed a new location algorithm based on the studies of power quality disturbance source location algorithms. First of all, to process the collected data using the algorithm of wavelet transform, and then to reconstruct the wavelet decomposition coefficients to high frequency component and low frequency components based on the superposition theorem, to calculate the transient disturbance power and steady disturbance energy respectively, to determine the disturbance direction and build the disturbance direction matrix. According to the connection of the monitoring points as well as the monitoring direction of power flow, the paper constructs a correlation matrix. The matrix of the disturbance location based on the correlation matrix and the direction matrix, from which the location of the disturbance. Finally, the algorithms can be achieved by using python languages, to verify the accuracy of the algorithm.The algorithm introduced the wavelet transform algorithm and the superposition theorem to the disturbance power calculation, and improved the accuracy of the disturbance direction. The correlation matrix was constructed based on the connection of the monitoring points as well as the monitoring direction of power flow, not to generate the topology. The efficiency of the algorithm was improved; the execution time of the program was reduced. The method is simple and easy to implement. The algorithms can be implemented by python programming. After the verification of IEEE13nodes example, the accuracy of the algorithm was high.
