When the train is running in the tunnel at high speed, it will produce lots of aerodynamic phenomena, among which, the train wind is the most obvious one. In recent years, with the acceleration of the railway construction, the train speed is increasing rapidly and aerodynamic phenomenon is increasingly severe in tunnels. In this paper, relying on two National Natural Science projects (U1134208,51008310), a numerical simulation method is used to analyze characteristics of train wind and the effect on people in double-line inter-city railway tunnels.In this paper, the following works were completed:(1) According to the design parameters of a double-line intercity rail, the Tunnel-Air-Train simulation model was established by the use of computational fluid dynamics software FLUENT. Two kinds of operation conditions were simulated:①single train was travelling through the tunnel;②A train broke down in the tunnel, and another train was travelling through the tunnel.(2) The train wind time-varying process of a point in tunnel was analyzed, from which we could get the variations of train wind of the point, including the speed and the direction(angle) of the wind; Also the trend of train wind change when the train was travelling through the tunnel was studied by the comparative analysis of The train wind time-varying process on the same location on different sections.(3) The spatial flow field in tunnel at some time point was analyzed, from which we could get the longitudinal and horizontal distribution characteristics of train wind in tunnel; Also the calculation results in different train speeds were compared so as to study the relationship between the train wind characteristics and the train speed.(4) The characteristics of train wind in evacuation passages aside or under rails were studied. From the results of calculation the maximum wind speed in evacuation passages could be found.(5) The control standard and computation method on human body aerodynamic force due to train Induced wind were defined. According to the results of all conditions, aerodynamic force on human body in evacuation passages could be calculated.
